The current service delivery platform (SDP) market has benefited significantly from a general change of perspective in the telecommunication industry toward subscriber experience. Equipment makers and operators alike have spent the past couple of decades figuring out how to leverage technology and products to create new services. In recent quarters, however, operators and their suppliers have begun to approach this process from the opposite direction: starting with the subscriber and then figuring out the products and technology needed to fulfill the subscriber’s requirements. |
| This solutions-oriented approach has rekindled innovation in the SDP segment of the market by advancing the discussion away from definition and segmentation and toward a substantive focus on the way SDP can be utilized to assist operators in their struggle to not be reduced to transport providers for over the top (OTT) services.
