Quick Take
Analytical Summary• Current Perspective: Positive on Verizon’s close alliance and co-marketing plans with SAP, and on its Managed Mobility Enhancements as they deepen the carrier’s ability to offer consistent, reliable cloud-based enterprise apps across both on-premise and mobile end-points. Verizon and SAP can each take advantage of the other’s enterprise clout and customer bases. SAP can leverage Verizon’s cloud infrastructure to market and sell value-added services more effectively to a larger prospect pool. And as an increasing number of operators are launching MDM and application enablement as managed services leveraging the SAP/Sybase Unwired platform, a close relationship with SAP may provide unique strengths to the Verizon offer. Verizon launched the Sybase-powered MDM/MSEP services before most competitors and has had a time to market advantage.
