Performance Lab Tests of
the Juniper Networks Secure Services Gateway SSG 320M and SSG 350M

Juniper Networks engaged Current Analysis and Iometrix to assess and validate the
performance of its new Secure Services Gateway SSG 320M and SSG 350M for the enterprise
branch and regional headquarters. Juniper Networks positions the SSG 320M and SSG 350M to
serve as either a regional/branch office security or unified regional/branch office
security and routing platform. Current Analysis and Iometrix crafted a test plan that
focused on benchmarking the performance of the SSG 320M and SSG 350M with stateful, realworld
multi-protocol traffic likely to be found in those environments.
 Based on experience and a growing track record of testing, Current Analysis and Iometrix developed a methodology that emulates the traffic patterns and protocols found in the enterprise branch office and regional office. This traffic mix was generated and measured by platforms from Agilent Technologies.
