Current Analysis Launches New Mobile Ecosystem Service

STERLING, VA., April 4, 2011 – Current Analysis, Inc., the market leader in competitive response solutions for providers of IT and telecommunications solutions, equipment, and services, announced the launch of its new Mobile Ecosystem service today. The service, which provides integrated insight into the events, issues, and technologies affecting the many diverse parts of the mobile communications industry, extends Current Analysis’ portfolio of segment-specific, highly tactical, competitive response solutions with an executive-level service that is holistic and strategic in its focus.

The new Mobile Ecosystem practice provides targeted guidance and high-touch engagements to mobile industry executives with strategic purviews, such as category managers, competitive and market intelligence leaders, and division or corporate executives. Unlike traditional intelligence services that focus on individual segments of a market, the Mobile Ecosystem service draws on analysis from the Current Analysis Mobile Device Silicon, Mobile Handsets and Connected Devices, Mobile Access Infrastructure, and Consumer, SMB, and Enterprise Services practices.

“Successful executives, particularly in the dynamic mobile communications industry, need to understand and plan for the issues coming from outside their primary markets,” noted David Baltaxe, Vice President of Research Operations. “They don’t need to dive a mile deep – though they may need to on occasion – but they do need access to the collective intelligence of a worldwide analyst team that tracks the entire ecosystem.”

“When mobility was just about voice, the wireless market was a much simpler place,” said Peter Jarich, Service Director. “But consider LTE – Network vendors are scrambling to differentiate themselves and use the technology’s introduction to grow their individual relevance. Operators are working hard to find ways to leverage LTE’s capabilities for more than basic data services, opening up opportunities across the long mobile value chain. Any participant in the ecosystem that fails to understand the implications of developments in adjacent (or even distant) mobile markets risks missing out on these opportunities.”

The Mobile Ecosystem practice covers such cross-industry issues as LTE, location-based services (LBS), machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, mobile applications and app development, mobile commerce and marketing, spectrum allocations, and the evolving wireless standards landscape. Mobile Ecosystem reports are delivered daily to subscribers through Current Analysis’ market-leading CurrentCompete portal. In addition, inquiry and direct contact with analysts are included in the service.
