Q4 2007 Enterprise Voice Market Shares
U.S. Market a Drag on Worldwide Enterprise Voice Sales in Q4


RENO, NV and STERLING, VA – March 4, 2008 – Synergy Research Group and Current Analysis today announced the availability of the Synergy Q4 2007 Enterprise Voice Market Share reports. Total Q4 worldwide sales decreased 1.7% sequentially dragged down by a 10% decline in the North American market. For the quarter, Western European Enterprise Voice sales were up 5%. Sales in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa were up 6%, Latin America up 10%, and Asia/Pacific sales were flat for the quarter. Year over year Worldwide Enterprise Voice sales were up 11.1%.

"In Q4 2007 the Worldwide Enterprise IP Telephony market was down across the board with sequential decreases led by LAN Telephony Call Server which decreased 0.3%, followed by IP Phones which decreased 0.9% and Converged Telephony which decreased 2.7%," says Ryan Olsen, Senior Analyst at Synergy Research Group. "Nortel posted the only positive quarter among the large vendors with growth of 4.0% sequentially. The European large vendors Alcatel-Lucent and Siemens posted strong quarters with growth of 22.7% and 7.8%, respectively."

The worldwide market for Enterprise VoIP Gateways decreased 3.3% sequentially in Q4. Year-over-year sales were up 6.9 percent. The market leaders Cisco, Alcatel-Lucent, Quintum, AudioCodes and Avaya. "Vendors such as Quintum, Vegastream, and AudioCodes are finding good opportunities as either OEM partners or as private label offerings," says Olsen.
