Q4 2007 Latin America Network Security Market Shares
Latin American Network Security Market Inches Up 1% in Q4 2007

RENO, NV and STERLING, VA – February 27, 2008 – Synergy Research Group and Current Analysis today announced the availability of the Synergy Q4 2007 Latin America Network Security Market Share report. Total quarter to quarter sales inched up 1% to $42.7 million. Total 2007 Latin American network security sales were up 8% to $188 million. Overall market share leaders for the year included Cisco, Nokia-Siemens, CheckPoint, and 3Com (TippingPoint).

The Latin America Hybrid Security Solutions market increased 3% to $35.3 million in Q4 and grew 6% compared to 2006. "The market is being driven the movement away from stand-alone devices toward multifunction devices, especially for SMB, Branch Offices, and remote site applications," says Aaron Vance, Senior Analyst at Synergy Research Group.

The Intrusion Detection/Prevention System (IDS/IPS) market in Latin America fell 14% sequentially to $5.8 million, but increased 15 percent over 2006. The SSL VPN market increased 11% to $1.5 million in Q4 and increased 52% year over year.
